The location of the Angon Discovery Canyon is a real asset, it is accessible from the beaches and campsites of Talloires and Angon.
A short 20-minute walk from the village of Angon to reach the starting point of the canyon.
The descent begins with the famous passage of the ‘mailbox’, a wide siphon (not mandatory), then a succession of beautiful and short rappels as well as some jumps and slides.
For those who are afraid not too satisfied with this Discovery version, there is a longer and sportier version of Angon, it’s Angon performance.

I wish to do this canyon with my children of 8 and 10 years old, is this possible for them?
Yes this canyon is suitable for family. The only condition is not to be afraid of heights, the highest waterfall is 18m. Note that the guide is fully handle the rope descent for children so that they can descend without stress.
But if you find that the height could be a problem for your children, choose the Ternèze canyon in the Bauges instead which will then be more suitable.
Are there jumps in Angon in the discovery version ?
Yes, there are some jumps in this canyon where the highest is 6m. In addition, we can re-do some jumps and slides!
How to get to Angon from Annecy without a car ?
It is possible to go to Angon from Annecy:
- By Bus: line 61 Annecy Talloire Montmin.
- By bike: around 45 minutes on the lakeside bike path (take the East Shore Lake from "Veyrier")
Is it necessary to know how to swim for the discovery version ?
Even if the swimming parts are short (to crosee the short natural pools), there has no current, and we walk quickly, but it is better not to be a 100% non-swimmer .
For people who are uncomfortable in the water, ask us to provide you with flotation vests when booking.
I saw that the route begins with the ‘mailbox’, is it mandatory ?
No, the passage in the siphon of the ‘mailbox’ is not obligatory. It can be passed by a short rappel or abseil easily.
