Jules Carret via ferrata Savoie, Bauges massif
Description
The Jules Carret Via Ferrata is only 20 minutes from Chambéry and 1 hour and 15 minutes from Grenoble in the Bauges Natural Regional Park (PNR).
It takes about 1 hour and 30 minutes from Lyon to reach the Doriaz parking lot, the meeting point for this via ferrata.
Close to Annecy, you’ll need to cross the Bauges to reach this via ferrata (about 45 minutes).
Renowned as one of the most difficult in France, it is accessible to non-via ferrata climbers only if you are fit, well-trained, and brave, or better yet, for those with prior via ferrata experience.
The route starts at the base of the Doriaz waterfall, next to another great adventure: the Doriaz Via Corda.
The athletic sections are relatively short but very, very physically demanding, making it perfect for those who enjoy a good upper-body workout!
For those who hesitate due to the difficulty of this route, you can opt for its smaller sibling, the La P’tchi Via Ferrata.

Dent de Crolles Traverse. 6 to 10 hours Sporty Caving. With an one hour approach, it’s serious thing!! walking, rappelling down, to get to the exit on the other side of the teeth!! Amazing to be above the valley with such a view...
This Via Ferrata goes through 3 parts with increasing level, but you’ll be able to escape at the start of each of the section and maybe your Guide will help if he’s awake!!
