Via ferrata Located in Saint Pierre d'Entremont in Savoie, in the middle of the Chartreuse regional natural park, between Grenoble Lyon and Chambéry, the Via ferrata Roche Veyrand is a full day Via ferrata in Saint Pierre d'Entremont with 2 parts, an easy first part and a harder and impressive second part.

The first part is the easiest: dizzying but without big difficulties, with some passages on beam and beautiful climbs on a nice limestone. The colored rock is of high quality, a very compact white / blue limestone crisscrossed by gullies and "Lapiaz" offering numerous holds for a fun climb.

The second part of the via ferrata of Roche Veyrand is the the most dizzying : We will climb the large footbridge of "Pas de la Frousse", and the Nepalese bridge "Pont des Balmes", then large vertical parts in the middle of a compact cliff.
The route is daring and it looks like of the great climbing routes. Halfway up, there are even two slight overhangs to cross! Dizzying atmosphere guaranteed in the heart of the Chartreuse, between Chambéry and Lyon.

Combien de temps dure la marche d'approche d'accès et de retour ?
Pour acceder au début du parcours de la via ferrata de la roche veyrand, il faut marcher 40 minutes en montée.
Depuis le sommet de la via ferrata, il faut prévoir 1h15 de marche de retour.

Est-ce que ce parcours est adapté pour une première via ferrata ?
C'est un parcours long avec un bonne marche d'approche, des parties d'escalade en surplomb et une ambiance aérienne. C'est donc possible de faire la via ferrata de la Roche Veyrand en première via ferrata mais il faut être sportif pour tenir la journée et l'idéal est d'avoir déja fait un peu d'escalade (en salle ou en falaise).
Est-il possible de s'arrêter en milieu de via ferrata si l'on est fatigué ?
Oui, c'est possible de ne faire qu'une partie de la via ferrata de la roche veyrand, car il y a plusieurs échappatoires qui ammènent au chemin de descente.
Comme c'est une via ferrata journée doit-on prévoir le casse croute et où mange-t-on ?
Oui un casse croute et bouteille d'eau sont à prévoir pour la via ferrata de la Roche Veyrand. En règle générale on mange au sommet de la via ferrata avant la marche de retour. C'est l'endroit le plus confortable et le point de vue sur la Chartreuse est plutôt sympatique !

Between Grenoble and Chambery, on the Chartreuse Eastern Side, in Alloix canyon you’ll abseil down several waterfalls in a row. This canyon has in particular a beautiful 150 ft high waterfall, a waterslide in an outstanding landscape.
